It’s been a super long time since I posted anything on this grow log. I’m hoping to at least stay on focus here for a current grow, THCV seeds from Jade Nectar. I’ve germinated 3 seeds for now and have placed them into solo cups. Germination was done via the paper towel method, with a pre-soak of a water/REV mixture for about 30hrs. The seeds were then placed into a damp/wet paper towel, then placed in a sandwich zip-lock baggie (left open), then covered in between two paper plates to keep a dark environment. After about another 30hrs, I got taproots, then placed into solo cups filled with potting soil –ย Mother Earth Terracraft. I amended the soil with maybe a handful of earthworm castings.
Shout out to Jade Nectar for this Cannabis Public Domain Project, such a great thing they are doing!
Environment
Temperature (F): 75
Humidity: High
Watering
Dampened the soil before going into solo cups, then sprayed the tops a bit more.
Nutrients
No nutrients at this time. Mixed in a little earthworm castings into the basic potting soil. Seeds were soaked in REV and water mixture.
Observations
Not sure if REV boosted/improved the germination time, but the taproots appear bigger and more healthier than my previous germination of seeds. I will be supplementing with REV and nutrients as the plant grows.

wow bro, those sprouts on those beans are long, but they’ll be fine. Years ago in a little weed book I have “grow yer own stone” it was said to plant the seeds with the sprout pointing up but I see these days .. it’s generally sprout down. Kinda odd. I still plant them with the little sprout pointing up cause of that info .. haha They always do well.
that’s super interesting…had always heard to point the tail down. just found this image too, talks about the energy being used when planted down…wow, great info – https://www.420magazine.com/gallery/data/500/marijuana-seeds-positioning-in-soil1.gif
